As the clock races towards Bob Dylan's 75th birthday on May 24, 2016, two things are in place: the Beats and Bob Dylan Save the Village Walking Tour, and a special birthday tribute concert to Dylan.

Not only is Beats and Bob Dylan Save the Village Walking Tour the greatest and most informative and entertaining walking tour focusing on Dylan and his time in Greenwich Village, it is the only regularly scheduled weekly tour of its kind.

One of the photo postcards that all walkers receive is from an October 23, 1975 concert at Gerde's, taken by Fred W. McDarrah, of Dylan, Joan Baez, Eric Anderson and Rob Stoner, all there for the 61st birthday of club owner Mike Porco. The tour also walks by the joint.

Well, Rob Stoner is now hosting a May 24, 2016 concert on the old Gerde's stage on West 3rd St. (the space is now the Village Underground Comedy Club). The All Star event is being organized by Bob Porco. The lineup is pretty solid. Special guests are likely, although no one thinks Dylan will attend. Too busy getting his archives together, perhaps, for the just completed sale to the folks in Tulsa. But stranger things have happened.

Check out the lineup and get tickets for the concert here:

  And take the walking tour.
