A Fred W. McDarrah photo is already part of New York City's official history of the modern gay rights movement; one of his photos appears as the only image on a Parks dept. interpretive sign in Christopher Park, across from the Stonewall Inn.

  Soon, his photos may be part of the nation's official history of the gay rights movement.
